Great New Artists

The first thing to notice about the From Here to Awesome Film Fest is that they are listed as being based in Brooklyn on their MySpace page. But you quickly find out that this happens in California when you watch the video they have posted there. This anomaly does not necessarily indicate a flaw in their organization.

They have a pretty unique concept that I like called You’re the Festival Programmer in which viewers watch a free film festival line up and vote on whcih ones make it into the From Here to Awesome festival. The only drawback is that the viewers have to be in California for the festival and voting process. The reason for this is so that you will be able to see feature length movies at the highest quality possible which you might not be able to get online. However I think this concept could be much bigger and better for all involved if some sort of online voting could take place at some point.

All that being said I think their video is worth checking out and if I were in California when all this took place it would be awesome.
