25 International Ice Festival Harbin, China
Among the ice festivals I want to go to one day is the one they have every year at Harbin, China. The festival starts every year on January 5th and has been going on since 1985. But tourists can go and see some fo the sculptures year-round because it stays so cold there (so I am told by some Americans I know who live in China).
The sculpturs this year include life-size buildings reflecting traditional Chinese architecture and the world’s largest father Christmas sculpture. Personally I think the best part is that the best time to see these sculptures is at night because you just don’t get the same look in the daytime and they light them all up. Each one looks like a perfect crystal palace with the lights on at night.
Check out this blog post and this one for pictures.
